The Cox Group Office

The Cox Group headquarters occupies a unique project site at the intersection of Mt. Vernon’s Welborn historic district and a busy modern commercial thoroughfare. The building’s design responds to this duality, bridging the past and present through a thoughtful combination of materials and forms. On the side facing the historic neighborhood, brick and limestone establish a respectful dialogue with surrounding architecture, while the sleek glass and metal façade gestures towards the modern commercial district.

The building’s guests are welcomed by a double-height atrium, crowned with a grand skylight, creating a light-filled reception that immediately conveys a sense of welcome. Inside, pedestrian bridges, open floor plans, and flexible circulation paths provide broad interior views and encourage spontaneous employee interactions, supporting a collaborative and transparent workplace culture.

Adam Green Architect was privileged to serve as Design Architect for the project, shaping the building’s overall vision and aesthetic, while Hafer served as Architect of Record, interior designer, and systems engineer. This collaboration ensured seamless integration of architectural design, interior finishes, and technical systems, resulting in a cohesive and high-performing workplace environment.
